It was Friday, the day before the aufruf. The father and mother were whispering anxiously \u2014 the house had no money, and the chasunah was just days away.<\/p>

All the usual solutions had already been used up for two older sons \u2014 loans, second mortgages, everything. Now the third son was engaged, and the family was staring at the simcha with no means to move forward.<\/p>

This father was no stranger to the Ohr HaChaim\u2019s holy mosdos \u2014 he had learned in one of their kollelim for years. With a broken heart but firm emunah, he approached the Rosh Kollel with a generous donation. \u201cPlease daven for me,\u201d he said, \u201cand light a ner in my zechus. Maybe, with the koach of the tzaddik, I\u2019ll see a
yeshuah.\u201d<\/p>

The wedding day came. Everyone danced and rejoiced \u2014 but the father\u2019s heart was heavy. How would he cover the costs?<\/p>

Then, moments before the mitzvah tantz, an old friend walked in, glowing. \u201cMazel tov!\u201d he said, giving him a warm handshake. Surprised, the father wondered why this friend had reappeared after years.<\/p>

The friend explained, \u201cI had a large sum of maaser money. I davened to know who to give it to \u2014 and I heard my old friend, a true talmid chacham, is marrying off his son tonight.\u201d<\/p>

He handed over an envelope. Inside: \u20aa50,000.<\/p>
